Poem 42

Morning stumbled out of bed;

Stubbed his toe and hit his head;

Afternoon yelled out for help

While evening hid among the kelp;

The day in fragments falls apart

It must begin around the start

And 'tinue forward from the dawn

Till evening surrounds us on the lawn.

Poem 41

So long away

But back today

From cutting knives

And hacking saws

Learned to walk

Could always talk

Happy to return.

Poem 40

Grizzened Gary

Guzzled gravy

While chopping up the roast;

Toasted Joann

Drove the sedan

Stressing her mid-western roots;

While addled Albert

Found poor Herbert

Diced up like a sherbet;

And after dinner

No one slept

For fear of wandering Al.

Poem 39

Happy hippos

Harvest hamsters

Shining in the sea

While wily bow whale

Whistle to magpies

Charming them out of the sky

To feed to hamsters

Dining with hippos

After the sunset

Down under the sea
